Overview of CCShare
CCShare is an online storage service for supercomputer users provided by the RCCS.
Each group is allowed one account with 1 TB of storage capacity, which can be used for storing, sharing, and collaborating on research data.
Research groups from the Three Okazaki Institutes are also eligible to use this service.
A key feature of CCShare is that you can easily upload and download data through a web browser.
However, if you simply need a place to store data, please first consider applying for additional disk space.
CCShare is suitable for the following purposes:
・File sharing within teams and between CCShare users
・Data publication
Steps to Apply for CCShare
To use CCShare, you must apply in advance. Follow the steps below to apply. Anyone other than the PI can also apply if they have obtained the PI's approval.
Filling Out the Application Form
- Access the application form: Access the CCShare application form.
- Enter required information: Fill in the necessary information such as applicant details and purpose of use.
- Submit the application: Check the entered information and submit the application form.
- Confirmation of receipt: Once your application is successfully received, a confirmation email will be sent. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact us.
Applicaiton Review Process
- Review: The application will be reviewed based on your usage history with the center and the submitted purpose of use.
- Notification of review results: Once the review is completed, the results will be notified by email. If approved, you will receive instructions for account creation.

User Responsibilities
- Users are fully responsible for the legality and content of the data they upload.
- Users must not upload illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content.
Account
- If a user of the center's supercomputer stops using it, and if the usage is not resumed within one year from the termination date, the associated CCShare account will be deactivated.
- If an internal user leaves the institution, their account will be deactivated one year after their departure.
Data
- Uploaded data will be stored as long as the user's account is active. If an account is deactivated, the data may be automatically deleted.
- The center is not responsible for any data loss. Users should regularly back up important data themselves.
- Pay attention to the sharing scope of confidential data.
Data Capacity Limits
The data capacity available to users may change due to operational reasons or service improvements.
Maintenance
During supercomputer maintenance, access to CCShare will be unavailable. For maintenance schedules, please refer to the URL below: https://ccportal.ims.ac.jp/maintenance
Security Measures
- Set a strong password and, if possible, enable two-factor authentication to enhance security.
Intellectual Property Rights
The copyright and other intellectual property rights of the data uploaded by users belong to the user or the rightful owner.
Disclaimer
- The center is not responsible for any damages incurred by users in connection with the use of this service.
- The center is not responsible for any data loss or leakage incidents involving user-uploaded data.
